Logging In

To login you need a login name and a password. Your login name (Username) is a unique name that is different from your real name. You choose your own password. Keep your username and password secure because you will need these to access the conference messages.

If you are new user, you will be asked to enter information about yourself such as: Your login name, real name, password, City/Town, State/Province, email address, personal profile and signature. After you log in be sure to check your user profile so that you can set the notification for tracking unread messages. Use the "Help" link to find out how to access your user profile.

If you do not enter an email address, you cannot use "Email Notify" to get email when new messages are posted on the conference.

The Menu Bar Commands

The Clappers Conference has a Menu bar that makes navigation a snap.

Post: Select a conference to which you want to post a message then click "POST" on htm emend command bar.
Refresh: This command updates your conference list. (It does not always work as expected with MSIE).
Chat: Displays the available Chat Rooms and also shows if there are any real time conference users in chat.
Profiles: This command allows you to change your user profile.
Mark All Read: Mark messages in one or more conferences as read.
More: This option allows you to see the current users, the top ten users, the top ten message posters, messages posted today and a list of all new messages.
Help: This is the link to an extensive online help that details all the functions of both the conference as well as the chat rooms.

Posting Messages

Remember to enter the title of the Message in the topic field. This should be brief and reflect the content of your message.

Type in your message in the text box with the scroll bar. Select the "Preview" radio button to see your message and spellcheck your message before it is finally posted.

Email Notify

Email Notify lets you receive notification via email of when new messages are posted to the website. You will receive one notification for each conference. These notifications do not contain the actual messages.

Search

Use the keyword search function to quickly select a group of messages for review.
