PreMillenial Eight Day Reggae Marathon
(PremDeReM)

WUSB 90.1 FM in conjunction with Clappers International present eight days of non-stop, commercial free reggae music that will be simulcast on the air as well as on the world wide web at www.wusb.org! This unprecedented, PreMillenial Eight Day Reggae Marathon (PremDeRem) will start on Wednesday, December 30, 1998 and is scheduled to finish on January 6, 1999.

Back by popular demand from the local as well as the international listening audience, the annual reggae marathon has been expanded from seven days to an unprecedented eight days of uninhibited, commercial free simulcast of the best of the reggae music genre. The reggae marathon, a WUSB and Clappers International tradition, is the clear choice for reggae enthusiasts to ring in the New Year. Kibret Neguse and Lister Hewan-Lowe will host this year's PreMillenial Reggae Marathon. Sharing the spotlight will be almost 100 guest radio personalities, artistes and reggae industry participants. An added feature of this event is the live broadcasts from the WUSB studio by international reggae radio show hosts from Spain, Holland, France, Italy and New Zealand.

WUSB 90.1 FM is Long Island's largest, non-commercial radio station operating with 4000 watts of power on an FM frequency that reaches an audience spanning Long Island, Queen's and portions of Connecticut as well as Westchester. The broadcast range has been expanded to a global audience by the simultaneous broadcast on the Internet at "http://www.wusb.org".

Local and international listeners will be able to interact with the guest radio personalities, artistes and reggae industry participants via the Clappers' Conference and Chat at "http://lister.ultrakohl.com:8080/~2". During the broadcast, up to the minute playlists will be available on the Clappers' website at "http://lister.ultrakohl.com".

CDs and tapes of popular reggae artistes as well as other valuable prizes will be given away to listeners who either call in via the worldwide eavesdrop line, 516-689-1662, hit the Clappers' Conference or send email to "reggae@wusb.org".
